The Excellence AMT series
A true piece of art
After decades immersed in the high-end audio industry—evaluating virtually every system configuration and cabinet architecture imaginable—the Audes engineering team set out to create something different: an intentional departure from the overwhelming proportions and ostentatious design of conventional “superspeakers,” without compromising an ounce of reference-grade performance. This shared vision gave rise to the Excellence AMT series.
The design pairs classic luxury with modern restraint. A slender silhouette finished in deep piano-black lacquer is framed by sculpted, inlaid Makassar ebony accents, lending an imposing yet graceful presence. What appears minimalist at first glance reveals an intricate harmony of compound curves and seamless contours—elevating the enclosure from high-fidelity speaker to functional sculpture.
At the core of the series is a meticulously selected Air Motion Transformer (AMT) tweeter, the namesake of the line. Paired with SEAS Excel midrange drivers and proprietary Audes bass units, the system reproduces transient impulses with surgical speed and lifelike clarity, maintaining complete tonal neutrality across the entire audible spectrum.

AMT tweeter adjustment
Due to specific properties of AMT it might need some adjustment at times. In some rooms, depending on the positioning of the loudspeakers and the listener, it might sound too bright or, on the contrary, too dull. To accommodate these potential issues, control over the AMT response is provided. The adjustment knob is located on the rear wall of the speaker and is used to carefully tune the level of the AMT. Such adjustment introduces practically no changes to the phase response of the loudspeaker, thus leaving the soundstage intact.
